Super Eagles defender Chidozie Awaziem is confident that the Olympic Eagles will overturn the 2-0 1st leg loss to Libya and qualify for the next round of the Olympic qualifiers.
Awaziem who has been drafted into the U23 team for the all important 2nd leg to be played on Monday in Asaba also revealed to DiegwuSports.com that the morale in the team is high ahead of the match.
‘I think the team is ready and everyone is giving in his best. We have forgotten about the 1st leg and our confidence is high ahead of the match. Everyone knows the importance of the match for the country and we will do our best to deliver and make the country proud’
‘As for being two goals down, we will approach the match with believe and determination. If they could score us two goals, then we can do the same too. I believe in the team, the players and I believe we are going to win.’
Awaziem also called on the fans to come out in their numbers to support the team.
‘I urge all the fans to come out and support us, we need to feel the 12th man behind us. As a player, as a team this helps to increase our morale and confidence. If they can give us a full house, it will be awesome’
Nigeria must win by three goals to qualify for the next round having lost 2-0 to Libya last Thursday. Kick-off for the match is 4pm at the Stephen Keshi Stadium, Nnebisi Road, Asaba.
