‘We can still win the NPFL’ – Loute warns

Rangers Intl defender Issac Loute believes his team can still win the NPFL despite its inconsistent results so far at the ongoing Championship Playoffs.

Rangers and Benin International Isaac Loute is insisting that his team can still win the league despite its inconsistent results at the ongoing NPFL Championship Playoffs that is taking place in Lagos.

Loute speaking to DiegwuSports ahead of Rangers’ heavyweight clash against Kano Pillars in the penultimate round of fixtures of the playoffs warned his opponents no to write them off yet.

‘We are fully focused towards winning the match against Kano Pillars. We have a team capable of doing that.’

‘We can still win the league, nothing is settled yet. If our opponents write us off, then it’s to their own peril. Here at Rangers we are fully focused on reclaiming the tittle and we strongly believe that if we win the remaining two fixtures then we stand a real chance’

Rangers International in its 1st match if the Playoffs lost to Enyimba FC 1-0 before bouncing back to defeat Lobi Stars 2-1 in the 2nd match. The Flying antelopes were also in a commanding lead in the 3rd game against Akwa United, leading 3-1 with a man down, before conceding two late goals as the match ended 3-3 putting the NPFL giants in a must win situation for the remaining two matches of the NPFL playoffs.

Reflecting on the last match against Akwa United, Loute believes that he and his teammates have moved on and have picked a lot of positives from the match.

‘It was sad the way we blow away the two goal lead in the dying moments of the match, those are the moment that make you stronger and we also had a lot of positives from the match, let’s not forget we played most of the match, one man down and we were able to score twice with a man down. It’s gives us confidence going forward that we can win match no matter the circumstances.’

Kickoff for the match between Rangers and Kano Pillars is 3pm at the Agege Stadium, Lagos.
