Nigeria defender Kingsley Madu has joined Danish Superliga side Odense Boldklub after a successful trial.
Madu who has been a free agent after being released by Belgian outfit Zulte Waregem
The 23-year-old left-back had been searching for a new team following his release by Zulte Waregem at the end of the 2018-2019 campaign has signed a one year contract with Odense.
A product of Golden Boot Soccer Academy, Kingsley Madu started his professional career at El-Kanemi Warriors, before joining Slovakian giants AS Trencin in 2014 where he got his 1st International cap with the Super Eagles in 2015. He was also part of Nigeria’s 2016 bronze winning Olympic team at Rio de Janeiro.
Last season Madu was on loan at KSV Roeselare from Zulte Waregem where he made ten appearances scoring once.
Speaking to Odense media an elated Madu is quoted to have said:
”In a short time I got a really good impression of the club and the city.
”The teammates and everyone around the team have been incredibly nice to me and I already feel like part of the squad.
”I am a strong and fast left back who will always do my best and I will do everything to win.
”I would like to thank OB for giving me a contract and I am very much looking forward to being able to pay back on the pitch and help the club move in the right direction”.
Kingsley Madu will play with the number 18 jersey for the 2019-2020 season.
