Ahead of the Tuesday’s International friendly between Nigeria and Ukraine, the Nigeria Football Federation has confirmed the withdrawal of skipper Ahmed Musa.
This raises the number of withdrawals to five for the Super Eagles who will now file out an experimental side for the friendly.
According to a statement issued by the Nigeria Football Federation on Friday evening, an injury has forced the former CSKA Moscow winger to pull out of the squad.
It is worth remembering that Musa had to be substituted on the hour mark during the Saudi Professional Football League match between his team Al Nassr and Al Fateh last week after suffering the injury.
Defenders Kenneth Omeruo and Tyronne Ebuehi, midfielder Wilfred Ndidi and winger Henry Onyekuru have also been ruled out of the upcoming friendly, and late call-ups were handed to Josh Maja, Brian Idowu, Emmanuel Dennis and Anderson Esiti.
The Nigerian Federation have not announced a replacement for Musa and this means that twenty two players are due to fly to Ukraine.
With senior players Omeruo and Musa absent, Udinese defender William Troost-Ekong will take over captaincy duties against Ukraine.
