The Nigeria football federation NFF, on has told newly appointed care taker coach of the Plateau Utd, Wickadson Victor that He cannot take charge if the team.
Wikadson was appointed as head coach of the team following the sacking of Zachary Baraje but he is still under a ban from the NFF following the involvement of his team in a scandalous scoreline in July 2013.
The NFF general secretary, Dr Mohammed Sanusi, has written to the Plateau State Football Association instructing it to make sure that the ongoing ban on the coach is enforced.
The football governing body in Nigeria explained that it had to write the Plateau State so that it serves as a “reminder in view of the move by Plateau United FC on Monday to appoint Victor Wikadson as new head coach.”
Wikadson, still serving a 10-year ban, was among a 25-man Plateau United Feeders contingent banned for the scandalous scoreline in the Nigeria Nationwide League playoff three years ago.
A total of 95 people from four clubs, including players, coaches, club officials, match commissioner and referees, were banned by the NFF following the scandalous scorelines.
