Eagles hold 1st training session in Asaba Amidst injury woes

The Super eagles had their 1st full training session today with 22 players, Samuel Kalu of Bordeaux was the only absentee.

Training started with Twenty-two players with the only absentees being Junior Lokosa and Samuel Kalu.

However, Arsenal’s Alex Iwobi, Brighton’s Leon Balogun and Udinese’s Troost Ekong trained alone.

After the 1st twenty minutes of training the boys were separated into two main groups, with the likes of Ahmed Musa, John Ogu, Isaac Success, Adeleye Olaminekan, Brian Idowu, Ogenekaro Eleni while the other group comprised of Kelechi Iheanacho, Kenneth Omeruo, Ola Aina, Moses Simon, Samuel Eze.

On the issue of who will be in goal for Nigeria on Saturday against South Africa, it’s becoming clear that it will be between Theophilus Afolokai and Daniel Akpeyi as both goal keepers were the ones used in the little training match.

Ikechukwu Ezenwa trained alone with goal keeper trainer Alloy Agu.
