Ahead of the upcoming Africa Games, the Nigeria Boxing Federation has called up a total of 20 boxers.
The Nigerian Boxing Federation announced that the boxers will head into a six-week intensive camping ahead of the 12th African Games holding in Rabat Morocco from August 16 to 31.
The trials to select the boxers took place at the Brai Ayonote Gymnasium, National Stadium, Lagos.
Nigeria will feature in the boxing event at the Games with two boxers in each weight category. Ten male and 10 female boxers make up the list of 20.
The final list for male boxers has Adesodun Michael and Adeniji Yusuf representing the country in the 56kg, Osoba Azeez and Osita Umeh (69kg), Lukmon Lawal and Danluko Ekele (81kg), Arinze Franklin and Gabriel Francis (91kg). In the super heavyweight, Adebayo Imoleaye and Segun Ibrahim have been selected.
Selected in the female category are Aishat Oriyomi, Caroline Linus, Oshoba Elizabeth, Ukah Juliet, Yetunde Odunuga, Fadilat Tijani, Abdulwahab Aisha, Shobgamu Bola, Ekung Mary and Adejumola Toyin.
