Nigeria U17 coach Manu Garlba has described the pre-world cup workshop as a very important event.
The Team workshop took place in Brasilia on 29 August with 14 coaches of the 24 participating teams in attendance receiving important information about the tournament
Garba also reiterated the importance of understanding key rules of the game before tournament kickoff.
‘I am very happy to have taken part in this workshop. I have learnt a lot especially as regards the new rules in the game. Its a beautiful initiative by FIFA to organize this and explain to us clearly’ Garba revealed
Manu Garba who led NIgeria to World Cup glory in the 2013 World Cup promised that he and his coaching staff will inform the players of the new changes.
‘Offcourse when we get home, we will inform the boys, educate them and also apply the new laws during the training sessions. I am confident we will adapt to them before the world Cup begins’
The team workshop ahead of the FIFA U-17 World Cup Brazil 2019 was held at the Hotel Brasilia in the capital city of the tournament hosts.
The objective of the meeting, which was attended by 14 coaches who will be at the event when it kicks off on 26 October, was to share vital information with the teams’ delegates on topics including logistics, competition matters, security, transport, media and medical issues.
Also in attendance was former Brazil goalkeeper and FIFA Legend Julio Cesar, who shared a message with the participants and also spoke to FIFA.com about his experiences in the age category and what to expect from Brazil 2019.
The team workshop also served to whet the appetite ahead of the launch of the ticket sales, the first round of which will be available for general purchase on Friday 30 August.
