Falcons In The Diaspora: Oshoala, Okobi, Ortega all Shine In an Impressive Weekend

It was a memorable weekend for our Naija ladies as the soared excellently in their various clubs. Here is a review of their performances.

We start from Sweden where the Nigeria duo of Ngozi Okobi and Halimatu Ayinde powered Eskilstuna United to a third consecutive win in all competitions as they defeated Vittsjo 1-0 in Damallsvensken.

Ngozi Okobi played for 85 minutes before being substituted while Ayinde played the whole match receiving a yellow card.

Eskilstuna Utd are now four points from the Champions League places with four matches to go until the end of the season.

In the Damallsvenskan 2, Christy Onyenaturuchi Ucheibe came off bench to score a goal and an assist as Assisi defeated Sundsvall 3-1 to move up to 6th on the table.

In Spain, La Liga Giants FC Barcelona thrashed Atletico Madrid 6-1 with the new Super Falcons captain Asisat Oshoala getting back to the scoring sheet.

After going three consecutive games without scoring, the three time African footballer of the year scored a brace in the 45th and 47th minute before being substituted in the 75th minute.

Barcelona top the table on goal difference and lead a pack of four teams on 7pts.

Still in La Liga and Super Falcons defender Chidinma Okeke played 90 minutes as Madrid CFF defeated Espanyol 2-1. Madrid CFF arrow 6th on the table on 6 points.

Elsewhere, Chioma Ubogagu and Osinachi Ohale were in action as their team, Taçon suffered a 5-1 defeat to Logroño. Taçon who are Real Madrid’s Ladies’ team, have just one once in the first three matches of the season.

Patricia Efih played 75 minutes before being substituted as Sporting Huelva defeated Sevilla 1-0 and record their 1st win of the season.

In Portugal, Chinaza Uchendu was on target as Braga got their first win of the season. Braga defeated Maritimo Funchal 5-1 with Uchendu scoring in the 13th minute.

In China, the final day of the season saw Onome Ebi score as her side Henan Huishang played out a 1-1 draw with Jiansung Suning.

Francesca Orderga was also on target as her club Shanghai RCB thrashed Wuhan Chedu 5-0 to end 2nd on the log.
