Super Eagles forward Moses Simon scored the winning goal as his clubside Nantes recorded a slender 1-0 home win against OGC Nice in their French Ligue 1 clash at the Stade de la Beaujoire – Louis Fonteneau on Saturday night.

Simon scored four minutes in a the 86th minute as Nantes moved into 2nd in the Ligue 1 two points from leaders Paris Saint Germain.

It was Simon’s second goal in his eighth league appearance for Nantes.

Moses was later substituted by Samuel Moutoussamy deep into stoppage time.

Still in France, Henry Onyekuru was not listed for action in Monaco’s 3-1 away defeat to Montpellier

Onyekuru has endured a miserable and near horrific start to his Monaco career making only four league appearances for Monaco and is yet to score this season as Monaco are struggling this season again.

Elsewhere, Samuel Kalu and Josh Maja were anonymous for Girondins de Bordeaux during their 3-1 away win at Toulouse.
Samuel Kalu was not included in the matchday squad while Josh Maja sat on the bench for the entire match.

In Germany, it was a horrible afternoon for Jamilu Collins as he missed a penalty as Paderborn lost 2-1 at FSV Mainz.

Collins, who scored his first ever Bundesliga goal for Paderborn against Champions Bayern Munich last week, failed to convert from the spot 11 minutes from time.

U-23 Eagles forward, Taiwo Awoniyi was an unused substitute for Mainz in the game.

Moving on to Spain, Samuel Chukuweze saw action for 90 minutes but could do little to prevent Villarreal from losing 2-1 against Osasuna at the Estadio El Sadar (Pamplona Iruñea))

Ramon Azeez featured for 51 minutes in Granada’s 4-2 away defeat to Real Madrid.

In England, Wilfred Ndidi was in action as Leicester City lost narrowly away to European Champions Liverpool 2-1.

It was Ndidi’s seventh Premier League appearance for Leicester City however a late penalty denied the Foxes at least a point from the highly entertaining fixture.

Unfortunately His international teammate, Kelechi Iheanacho was not listed for the game by the Foxes.

Elsewhere, Alex Iwobi was in action for 90 minutes as Everton went down to a slim 1-0 defeat to Burnley.

It was Iwobi’s sixth league appearance for Everton albeit he has scored one goal for the club.

Isaac Success was not listed for action as Watford were held to a goalless draw at home by Sheffield United.
