Nigeria Professional Football League side Rivers United have unveiled its new players ahead of the commencement of the 2019-20 season.
In a memo made available to the general public by the club, the players were unveiled in a ceromony held on Tuesday at the Yakubu Gowon, the club’s home ground, with general manager Okey Kpalukwu urging the players to give their best in the new season that starts this weekend. The Pride of Rivers who had a disappointing 2019 season where they failed to win a trophy and missed out on continental football will be hoping to perform better. This feeling was echoed by captain Austin Festus.
Festus Austine promised that the players would give a hundred percent in all competitions in the coming season. However, it should be noted that there was no mention of how many players were signed by the club or unveiled in Tuesday’s ceremony
Rivers United will face Kano Pillars in their opening league game of the season at the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kano in November 3, 2019.
