Head coach of Abia Warriors, Emmanuel Deutch has praised striker Jimoh Oni after scoring a brace in his team’s season opener against Katsina United on Sunday at Umuahia.
Jimoh Oni scored a goal in either half as Abia Warriors raced to a 2-0 home win in the matchday 1 of the 2019/2020 NPFL season and Deutch believes that the former youth international will be a big hit this season.
“I am very proud of him, He keeps getting better every season and I tell you to watch out for him this season because he looks like he has arrived to his prime” Deutch told DiegwuSports.
Jimoh Oni scored a goal in each half, 1st a well curled free-kick from outside the box and the 2nd just after half time as he found himself one on one with the keeper. He made no mistake as he calmly hit the bottom corner of the goal post.
Jimoh Oni has previously played for FC Ifeanyi Ubah were he won the Federation Cup in 2016 and helped the Anambra Warriors to their highest NPFL finish as they came 3rd.
Trying to explain the reason behind the recent good performances of the striker, the coach Emmanuel Deutch attributed it to hard work.
“He is one player that is very humble and hardworking. He is always eager to learn and improve. Remember, I have worked with him before at FC Ifeanyi Ubah and he was still very young.
“He showed this attributes back then and is still doing same now. Like I said I am not surprised he is playing well now”
