Katsina Coach ‘Proud’ of Team Performance despite Loss

Head coach of NPFL side Katsina United Henry Makinwa, has disclosed that he is proud of his team’s performance despite its narrow 2-0 away loss to Abia Warriors in the opening weekend of the season DiegwuSports reports.

Despite failing to register a single shot on target, Makinwa [who by the way was facing his former team] believes they are plenty of positives to take from the match.

“It was a very good performance both sides especially our team. For most of the match we were in it. Controlled possession and created chances, unfortunately we didn’t utilize them.

“I am very proud of the performance today and I can only see us building on this in the games forward.” Makinwa told DiegwuSports

Jimoh Oni scored a brace for Abia Warriors as they defeated Katsina United 2-0 at the newly re-grassed Umuahia Township Stadium. A score line that was not really a true reflection of the match as both teams were even for most of the game.

As earlier stated, Katsina United failed to register a single shot on target but Makinwa says he is not worried about that.

“I am not worried about that because we created a lot of chances just that we didn’t get any on that. It’s just a matter of composure which we will work on and in no distant time, the attempts on target will come.”
