The League Management Company (LMC) have given a provisional approval for Delta Force to be changed to Kwara United in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL)
The LMC while making the directive on Wednesday, December 11, also approved the Ilorin Township Stadium as the venue for Kwara United home games this season in the NPFL.
Kwara United actually started the season in the National League where they defeated Gombe United in their first game before acquiring the NPFL status of Delta Force.
Bashir Badawiy who is the General Manager of the club confirmed to DiegwuSports that the LMC clearance while saying that the team is fully focused in making a wining return to the NPFL when they face sleeping giants Heartland FC on Sunday at Ilorin
‘Yes, I can confirm that we have gotten provisional clearance from the LMC and we are good to play Sunday’s match at home at Ilorin too.
‘We are excited and I am sure the fans are excited too and we [the team and staff] are focused in making sure that we have a wining return to the NPFL’ Bashir told DiegwuSports
Also speaking to Diegwu Sports is the chairman of the club Kumbi Titiloye who thanked the Kwara state governor Abdulrahman for his support always on the team.
“We want to thank His Excellency for the supports on Kwara United because without him, nothing will be done or achieved and we want to promise that we will always make him proud,” Kumbi Titiloye explained.
The experienced football administrator also enjoined all football stakeholders to come out massively this coming Sunday to support Kwara United against Heartland of Owerri in first home game this term in the NPFL.
