Plateau United maintained it’s two point lead at the top of the Nigeria Professional Football League after another high scoring weekend.
Indeed it was another weekend which once again proved the attacking intent of the NPFL sides as twenty-four goals were scored with Plateau United scoring the most as they thrashed FC Ifeanyi 5-1 at the New Jos Stadium.
It was also a weekend which produced two away wins with Sunshine continuing it’s resurgence with a comprehensive 0-3 win over Adamawa United.

If there were any doubts that the Tin Boys were going to be affected by last weekend’s loss to Heartland, it took just four minutes for them to silence their doubters.
Abbah Umar put the leaders in front after a pin pointed assist by Henry Henlong. This was the beginning of a miserable afternoon for FC Ifeanyi Ubah who were woeful to say the least.
Silas Nenrot, Ibrahim Mustapha, Bernard Ovoke [who also missed a penalty] and Tosin Omoyele all scored for Plateau United before Ekene Awazie grabbed a consolation for the Anambra Warriors.
Dakadda FC 2-1 Enyimba – Dream Debut season continues for the new boys
Dakadda FC moved into 2nd on the log after defeating champions Enyimba with a late goal from Utibe Arit.
Enyimba thought they had grabbed a point from the match after in form striker Victor Mbaoma equalized for the Champions on in the 86th minute but it was Arit and Dakadda that had the last laugh as they scored in stoppage time.
The win means Dakadda FC has now lost just once in it’s opening 8 matches in what is definitely a dream debut season in the NPFL.
Lobi Stars 1-0 Abia Warriors
In a match that had little or nothing between both sides it was a second half strike from Sikiru Alimi that sealed all three points for Lobi Stars who return into the top three with the win.
Gbenga Ogunbute’s side are still unbeaten at home in the NPFL.
Adamawa 0-3 Sunshine Stars – Stars resurgence continues
Sunshine Stars continued it’s good form with an impressive 0-3 away win at new boys Adamawa United.
Isreal Abia scoring form continued as he netted the first goal of the match. The striker is now on six goals this season and leading the goal scorers chat.
Timi Oguniyi and Sadiq Yusuf scored the other goals for Sunshine Stars who move up to 4th on the log.
Elsewhere, Heartland earned a morale boosting away win after defeating Kwara United 1-0 in what turned out to be a nightmare return to the NPFL for the Ilorin based side.
Christian Pyagbara scored the games only goal after converting a penalty in the 60th minute.
Rivers United defeated Katsina United 2-0 with Michael Stephen and Kayode Rafiu scoring for the Pride of Rivers.
Jigawa Golden Stars also earned a hard fought 2-1 victory over Warri Wolves with Kala Ali and Innocent Kingsley scoring for the Stars. Charles Upele got the consolation for Wolves.
