According to reports in Turkey, Super Lig side Besiktas are interested in signing Nigeria defender Chidozie Awaziem.
Media outfit ajansspor.com, claims Besiktas manager Sergen Yalcin is interested in signing the versatile defender who spent the second half of last season with another Turkish club Caykur Rizespor.
Besiktas officials according to the website have also met with Awaziem representatives to discuss the move.
Awaziem is currently on loan at Spanish club Leganes from Portuguese giants FC Porto.
The 22-year-old has made 24 league appearances for Leganes this season.
Awaziem linked up with Porto in 2014 after spending three years at Nigeria Professional Football League club Elkanemi Warriors.
After spending two years with Porto B , he was promoted to the first team in 2016 and featured in 10 league games.
Aside from his loan stints at Caykur Rizespor and Leganes, he also spent the 2017/2018 campaign with French Ligue 1 side Nantes.
He has also played seventeen matches for Nigeria at senior level scoring once.
Awaziem was also part of Nigeria’s bronze-winning team at the 2019 African Cup of Nations in Egypt.
